How do I install free modules?

Free modules can be installed using the built-in FoundryVTT interface.

  1. Select the "Add-on Modules" tab
  2. Click the "Install Module" button
  3. Search for the name of the module you want to install (i.e. DFreds Convenient Effects)
  4. Click the "Install" button in the result
How do I install premium modules?

At the moment, the only way to install the premium modules is to unzip them into your Foundry data folder.

Installation

Download the zip file and extract it into your /FoundryVTT/Data/modules folder. On Windows, this typically looks like this: C:\Users{username}\AppData\Local\FoundryVTT\Data\modules. The end result should have a folder like /FoundryVTT/Data/modules/dfreds-sample-module

Note for Updating:

It's probably safest to delete the existing /FoundryVTT/Data/modules/dfreds-sample-module, and then re-extracting the update using the installation steps above.

I am having an issue with one of your modules. What should I do?

I've found a bug. Where do I report it?

First, make sure you are doing the basic steps on the Troubleshooting page. Then, follow the bug reporting steps.

How does the Patreon subscription work?

By subscribing to the Supporter tier, you gain access to the full premium module collection, and will be charged monthly for the subscription. You can cancel your subscription at any time.

Note that most modules have an early access period for Early Access tier members, which lasts at least a month on initial release.

What happens if I cancel my subscription?

You get to keep all of the modules that you have downloaded, but you will not get any future updates. Any modules that you have not downloaded will be inaccessible.

Additionally, any special Patreon roles in the Discord will be removed.

I've subscribed to the Patreon. How do I download the modules?

To install the premium modules, head over to the Patreon shop. Note that some modules are locked to the Early Access tier when they are first released.

I've subscribed to the Patreon. How do I get access to the exclusive Discord roles and channels?

In order to gain access to the exclusive Discord roles, you need to link your Patreon and Discord accounts. The roles will be added automatically afterwards.
